26 million people in Pakistan are either blind or have impaired vision, of those 3 million are children.
Pakistan ranks 3rd in the world with highest number of visually impaired and blind people.
In Pakistan almost 30 per cent of the population live in poverty.

With very limited resources Umeed Welfare Foundation has started a new project to provide financial support to blind and visually disabled people in surrounding of Lalamusa city. Our aim is not only to provide financial support to visual disabled persons but to provide support for their eye care. Further, we are planning to assist and bear their medical expenses for their treatment in LRBT and Al-Shifa hospital.
